Name: Assistance services for migrants InBáze IV
Program: European Integration Fund
Realizátor: InBáze, o. s.
Commencement of project implementation: 01. 01. 2014
Project duration: 18 months
The aim of the project is to provide assistance and counseling services to foreigners from third countries who are in a difficult life situation, directly at the Departments of Residence of Foreigners of the OAMP MV ČR (hereinafter referred to as “OPC”). The service is provided on the territory of the capital city of Prague in connection with cooperation with the Prague Integration Center and other non-governmental migrant organizations. The project builds on three previous successfully implemented projects Assistance Services for Migrants InBases I, II and III implemented from 2011 to the present.
Like previous projects, this one further deepens and develops a very innovative and necessary model of providing interpretation and advice on administrative proceedings, which was created in cooperation with the Department of Asylum and Migration Policy (OAMP MV ČR). The service is provided to clients in a separate office directly at OPC Prague III in Cigánkova Street, OPC Prague IV on Koněvova Street and OPC Prague I in Bohdalec, where more than ¾ foreigners with long-term, temporary and permanent residence come.
The service will continue to be provided by intercultural workers (terminology has been clarified and the term “intercultural worker” is now preferred instead of the somewhat ambiguous and confusing term “sociocultural mediator”) in cooperation with legal and social residence counselors. It is a proven model that, on the one hand, allows the client to provide not only assistance but also basic advice on the most common life situations directly at the OPC branch and on the other hand allows the intercultural worker to gain experience and build their competencies under the supervision of residents. The service will continue to be provided in the following languages: English, Arabic, French, Russian, Vietnamese and Mongolian.
Outpatient counseling in matters of administrative proceedings and residence in the territory is still provided by an experienced employee with legal or social education directly at the branches of the Department of Residence of Foreigners OAMP MV ČR, in case of more time-consuming cases also legal counseling especially in matters of office stay InBáze o.s.
Based on the evaluation of practical experience from the OPC in the implementation of previous projects in the first half of 2014, the working hours of intercultural workers and advisers in matters of residence at OPC branches were also strengthened.
The EIF 2013-22 Assistance Services for Migrants InBase III project is supported by the European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic
