Collection of 24 bilingual fairy tales
You can read each of the fairy tales in Czech and the original language of the country. In choosing them, we were based on the belief that fairy tales help to know the uniqueness of the country and thus represent an important source for understanding the identity of the people who come from it. Try to find the answer to the question: Can fairy tales be a “window to the soul”? The fairy tales selected by us are based on and follow up on the project “Bedýnky příběhů”, which was created on the basis of creative workshops organized by the InBáze association in the Prague City Library and educational programs implemented in cooperation with Prague schools. Fairy tales were selected and read by lecturers coming directly from these countries. In addition to telling a fairy tale, the culture of the countries is brought closer to the children by talking about the country, traditional objects and a subsequent art workshop, where they have the opportunity to process their experiences using traditional materials and techniques of the country. The set of fairy tales Was Not … was created as part of the Bridges to Schools project, funded by the Prague – Pole of Growth Operational Program.
You can also listen to 11 bilingual audio recordings.
