How to start a career in the Czech Republic?

Do you want to find a good job that will utilize your skills and align with your dreams? Formulated by a group of experts involved in the international Career Path Project, we have the following recommendations for you.

1. Map out and communicate your strengths.
Do you know your strengths, and how to use them? Can you find career alignment using your own values? Make a list of what is important to you and what you can offer to employers (talent, knowledge, skills, etc.)
2. Formulate your goal.
Can you set a goal and clearly lay out what you want to achieve and the time frame in order to achieve it? What is required? Who can help you? Finally, how will you recognize when you've reached it?
3. Professional Presentation.
Do you know how to efficiently and positively introduce yourself to a future employer? A well-prepared resume, interview practice, professional presentation, and communication can help with that!
4. What skills do you have?
Do you know your qualifications and their potential? Develop a plan to make the best use of your specific professional skills and explore how they can be applied in other fields. We'll help you figure out what work you're best suited for!
5. Develop your language skills.
What are your language skills? Use all available resources to improve your knowledge of the Czech language. Take advantage of course offerings, community activities, talk with friends, read books, and use the media. Additionally, InBáze provides language tutoring services!
6. Explore the job market.
Are you familiar with the current job market? Regularly find available positions and keep track of employers' requirements. Follow and become knowledgeable on the current trends in salary conditions of different areas.
7. Gain work experience.
Do you know how you can gain experience from other fields? Take advantage of all the job opportunities out there, including volunteering and internships. Reach out and ask for an interview with people who work in the field you're interested in, too.
8. Use professional resources
Do you know where to turn for professional advice? Make use of the services and support of non-profit organizations and other institutions. Receive help regarding your stay, further education, recognition of qualifications, and job opportunities.
9. Actively participate in community activities
Do you know what the local non-profit organizations offer? Get actively involved. Be active on social media. Share information about your plans; others can be a valuable source of information for you.
